Decorate the Tree and Presents Under the Tree

In an earlier release of this pattern “Presents Under the Tree”  SNQ 011 and “Decorate the Tree” SNQ 021, I Changed some instructions to clarify a previous measurement  and to help if your seams are a little more than 1/4".  The revised patterns reads on page 2 step #3.  The height changed to 3-1/4” it was listed at 3-3/8”.  The pattern goes on to say in step #11 that if your seams or too large you can accommodate by making the trunk row at the bottom taller and then trim down the entire tree block to 30-1/2” X 30-1/2”.

  1. All the rows for the trees will assemble the same.  The triangles in step 2 will be sewn to the 1/2 square triangles from step 1.  The best look is to scramble and sew different colored triangles to the squares.  Sew a triangle onto two opposite sides of 27 of the 1/2 square triangle units.  Rotate the pieces and sew the triangle pieces like the following diagram.  These 1/2 square triangle units sit in the row “on point”.  When starting to assemble the tree be careful to keep the seam at 1/4”.  When the rows are assembled but not sewn to each other yet, the tree rows 1-6 should measure at 3-1/4” width.
