Many of these templates were designed after the stamps. The difference between the stamps and the templates—Templates can be cut like traditional quilt pieces in more than 1 layer of fabric. This takes less time to cut out but the corners have to be marked on the fabric using the template and the holes in the template. In templates that have rounded curves there are also slots that can be used to mark. Marking the endpoints where the seams will start and stop gives you those points and with a 1/4" open toe sewing foot the pieces are matched together and the 1/4" seam is sewn. There are YouTube tutorials on my channel to show these different techniques. Some of the tutorials will go step by step on how to use the templates and sew a block.
